NCA Constitutional Law exam: which parts of the Constitution Acts to print

Lexn Team

Print ss 91 to 95 of the Constitution Act, 1867 and Parts I, II and V plus s 52 of the Constitution Act, 1982: the exam is open book, but hard copy only.

These are the parts candidates rely on most, matched to the syllabus:

Constitution Act, 1867

  • Part VI, ss 91 to 95: distribution of legislative powers. Tab the heads of power you use most.

Constitution Act, 1982

  • Part I, ss 1 to 34: the Charter. Print all of it; ss 1, 2, 7, 15, 24, 32 and 33 get the most use.
  • Part II, s 35: Aboriginal and treaty rights.
  • Part V, ss 38 to 49: amending procedures.
  • s 52: supremacy of the Constitution.

The official text is free on Justice Laws. The PDF version shows English and French side by side; if you only want English, print from the web pages.

What else did you find worth printing or tabbing?
